This is a great electric boat rental company. The people could not be nicer or more helpful, the boats are very nice and unlike all of the other rental companies, the parking area is huge and easy. Do yourself a favor, save some money and skip Duffy. You will not be sorry. Oh, and they take our doggie friends!

Our Duffy boat was very clean, and ready for us when we arrived. The staff were very helpful getting us signed in and onboard. We enjoyed a two-hour cruise around Newport Harbor viewing holiday lights and celebrating birthdays. We had a great time!

I rented a pontoon for my mom's birthday and we had the best time. Thunder was the primary person helping us and he was so friendly and helpful. Our boat was extremely clean and well taken care of. I would recommend OC Boat Rentals and I will definitely be booking a boat from them in the future.

Great time with family. Enjoyed every minute. Loved that 4 year old son and 7 year niece loved it. They want to do it again. We will probably go back soon. Great that we can take snacks and drinks. Thank you Jay for showing us how to operate boat. and thank you Victoria for helping with reservation. Definitely recommend it for a family get together. Maybe even a birthday party. I get easily sea sick and this didn’t bother me.

Just got back from a WONDERFUL time on the boat. Staff was very helpful and friendly, especially JAY, who even gave directions to someone in our party that was lost. Very clean, comfortable, easy to drive, and could even hook up music from our cell phone.
Great evening for me to celebrate a birthday with our family. Plan on returning during Christmas too. Thanks OC Boat Rentals for a great 2 hours of FUN!!!

Eric, Thunder, Andy, Jeremy, and Collin were amazing. They helped us take pictures, drive us back to the deck, and overall were very helpful. Best boat rental experience. Would recommend 10/10. Definitely will go back.

Such a wonderful trip. Last year we used a different service. This year was quite an improvement. The staff was quick to respond to emails. The young man at the boat dock (Eric???) was so pleasant and helpful and knowledgeable and such a gentleman with our elderly passengers. We’ve already give his name and OC Boat Rentals’ info to family members who plan on coming out. We will be back. Unlike last year, the boat was clean and sound. AA++

Ugh I love this place. My friends were being so annoying and drunk and the staff was so patient! They were so friendly and didn’t give us any trouble we were even late back to the dock and they still drove our boat back to the dock like come on they were too nice to us! One of the guys first week on the job and he was so sweet keep up the good job guys! It was a beautiful adventure!

The company, Orange County Boat Rentals, is very friendly yet professional from the office staff who help with making the reservation to the dock staff who personally help and assist with operation of their Duffy boats. All of the staff make the customer feel welcome. The boats are clean and have no problems with their operation. This company has free parking next to the docking area which is a big plus since others have little to no available parking. All safety protocols and those regarding COVID-19 are practiced. The rates are reasonable and they honor vouchers or may match prices. I would choose this company again..

We booked a 2 hr Duffy rental with OC Boat Rentals to celebrate my moms 70th birthday! Such a great experience, from the beginning. The booking was easy, the directions by e-mail got us right to the spot, the attendants were friendly and polite. The boat was clean and ready to go when we arrived. It was a beautiful night in moms honor, will definitely do this again!!!

Very friendly staff as stated on website! I had to reschedule my booking and it was quickly reschedules within 10 mins. Their online booking calendar is also accurate and updated in real time. When we arrived to the kiosk, the young men were very friendly and informative on explaining the routes in the harbor, public docks and restrooms. From my experience, the staff here really love their job. I highly recommend OC Boat Rentals!

We had a family outing on the OC Boat. The boat and the staff were terrific. The boat was thoroughly cleaned (we watched the whole process). They were efficient and helpful in filling out the online paperwork and instruction on how to use the boat and provided a nice map. The parking is free (for up to three cars per boat) and easy to get to! This was perhaps our best experience in renting a Duffy in Newport. Highly recommend these guys.

We rent a pontoon for my friend birthday from 7pm -9pm. We want to take picture with sunset. It's a little hiccup at the beginning because the boat is not available until 730pm due to some delay from the prior group. They compensated for us by reduce the fee. It's getting dark and we got lost. I called Bam and he guided us back to the harbor safe and sound. Thanks Bam and OC rentals. We had a great night.

Customer service is A +. I’ll start with that. Attendants were both great; very nice young men. The lady whom I made the reservation with over the phone was so nice and patients as I struggled to get her my information through my screaming children. Lol. The boat was very nice and clean. Very comfortable. The reason for only 4 stars, the electric boats are dialed so low with a top speed of 6 mph, it actually poses a safety hazard in my opinion. If the bay were empty, sure no problem. I have previously owned two boats myself so I am not foreign to navigating through these waters. It was a busy day; lots of boats in the water. The current was moderate, but with the subtle wakes of other boats, it was making our electric boat very difficult to control, because it barely had enough power to correct my approach or recover from some situations I encountered. There were a few times that if I hadn’t had any experience, we would have collided with other boats just for the fact that I was cruising too slow through the NoWake zones relative to some of these guys. I understand the reasoning for tuning down the boats, I really do. In my opinion, it was too low, and took away my enjoyment at the skipper, because I was too busy trying to control the vessel. A chauffeur isn’t an option, I enjoy piloting our boats, which is why I also chose this company. They do now have a pontoon boat they rent out which would be my only choice if I rent again.

Dishonest rental company. Long story short- we had a reservation and it was cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation. This was completely understandable. I was told by Brooke that my reservation would be honored at a later date. Flash forward to today, I have yet to receive a response or a follow-up. Ended up having to dispute the charge to get my money back. Support your local businesses, they say. With dishonest businesses like these, who wants to show support? Save your money and go to Newport Fun Tours, they were awesome!

We made a boat reservation back in August, 2019. It rained and our reservation got cancelled. We tried to reschedule again in December, 2019: it rained again and got cancelled. We had a groupon so when Covid-19 hit, we couldn't reschedule before the rains subsided and the coupon expired. Fast forward to June, 2020. OC boat rentals was VERY understanding and we got to take our sunset excursion this evening! I just had to give them a thumbs up review for the way they treated me and honored the coupon. Great guys working the docks, very friendly and helpful! I can't wait to go again! THANK YOU OC BOAT RENTALS for a memorable sunset evening excursion with my three daughters! The boat was super clean...we brought lots of snacks and even got to sync our phone on the boat so we could listen to all of our favorite music!

We had a family celebration on the Duffy to celebrate my father's 80th birthday. He was thrilled just being on the water. The Duffy was clean and roomy. Ample space for coolers and food.

I highly encourage others to try it, one because of the ease of navigation, two because it is soothing and stress free. You get to bring your snacks and adult beverages, get to talk and enjoy the scenery! As the captain, I did not have any alcohol, but I didn't care. I had a wonderful time with my friends for their birthday. We brought real napkins, plastic wine glasses, and couple of bottles of nice wines, with a cheese tray and crackers. The staff was very friendly, helped us get our items on the boat, and was there to help us disembark. I highly recommend this company, it beats the competition hands down. (I frequently rent boats so that I have freedom to experience different ones without the cost of owning just one.)

5 star experience from the moment we booked over the phone to returning the boat. Customer service with Tyler was awesome and our dock host Hunter was quite awesome. The two hour boat ride was fun for our family and Canadian cousins. The kids and adults thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended by my sister. I’ll definitely recommend this to others.

Oh my gosh! What fun! We rented an electric boat for 8 and had the best 2 hour "happy hour" ever! We timed our trip to include sunset. the suggested route takes you out to "The Wedge" and back with just enough time to dock for a potty pit-stop if you need one. The boat was fun and easy to drive. The guy at the dock was nice and easy going. Even though it was a little electric boat, we had a blast looking at all the bigger boats in the harbor and we even had several dolphin close to us (close to The Wedge) which was pretty cool since we were sitting at water level and not above them in a huge sightseeing boat. Great time!
